Replit's AI agent now turns a text description into a working mobile app prototype
Replit's Agent 4 can generate a functional mobile app prototype — testable on a real device — directly from a plain-language description, the latest AI app builder pushing further into mobile after Lovable and Bolt focused mainly on web.

Replit has extended its Agent 4 product to mobile: describe an app concept in plain language and it generates a functional prototype you can install and test on an actual phone within minutes, rather than a clickable mockup. It’s part of the same release that lets Agent 4 produce a web app, a mobile app, a slide deck and launch assets from a single project — one prompt fanning out into several deliverables. Google Cloud, which powers a chunk of Replit’s infrastructure, has been positioning the partnership as bringing “vibe coding” into enterprise workflows.
Most of the AI app builder wave to date — Lovable, Bolt, v0 — has centred on web apps and dashboards, where a browser is the only runtime you need to worry about. Mobile is a harder target: app store review, device fragmentation, native APIs, offline behaviour, push notifications, none of which a prompt-generated prototype resolves on its own. Replit’s move signals that the vibe-coding tools see mobile as the next frontier worth building for, not that mobile app development has gotten as simple as describing it in a sentence.
So what
This is genuinely useful for what it is: a fast way to validate an app idea with something real in someone’s hand before committing to a build. It is not a substitute for a production mobile app — the same gap this site has flagged before between a vibe-coded prototype and something that passes App Store review, handles real user data securely, and holds up under real usage. If a prototype like this has proven your concept and you’re ready to turn it into something you’d actually ship, that’s exactly the handoff point we work from — see our iOS & Android work or get in touch to talk through what’s next.
